Bat

Cricket bats come in different sizes. A good guide is standing a bat upright next to you. The top of the handle should reach the top of your thigh. Weights of bats also vary and are measured in pounds and ounces.

Ball

A cricket ball is made up of either two or four pecies. The inside of ball is made of cork, with two halves of leather wrapped around the outside as a casing. The leather is then stitched together to form the "seam" and it is slightly raised.
The leather of the ball is polished, but the fielding side will try to keep the shine on one side and hope that the other half is roughed up. The shine on one side of the ball makes a ball swing through the air.
Mostly a white ball is used in one-day cricket as it is easier to see under floodlights and against coloured clothing.

Stumps

There are three stumps at each end, with two bails sitting across the top of them. The height of stumps is 28 inches and are equally spaced to cover a width of nine inches.
A batsman is only run out, stumped, bowled or given out hit wicket when one of the bails is knocked off the top of the stumps.

Batting Pads and Gloves

The main purpose of Batting pads is protection. They should be comfortable and fit properly.
To secure fingers and bottom of the hand Gloves are used. The modern gloves are very light weight.

Helmet

Helmet is used to protect your head. They even come with facegaurd.

Shoes

While purchasing cricket boot the important thing to consider are comfort and grip. Usually Batters prefer shoes with spikes at the front for grip and rubber-treaded heels. While fast bowlers have shoes with spikes at front and back along with extra support around the ankle.
